Tank Slippers
My friend, Julie's son, had seen tank slippers like these and liked them so his wonderful mom wanted someone to make them for him for Christmas. My friend, Phyllis, found the pattern for Julie and bought the yarn and started to make them. Unfortunately, the pattern was not well written and she had trouble with it and asked me to help. (I actually think her exact words as she shoved the yarn at me were, "Here, you do it!") lol! Anyways, I got most of the parts made but the wheels on the side just did not have much shape doing them the way the directions called for. Phyllis woke up one night with the idea of adding a back on them and then stuffing them like we had other parts of the tank. Voila!!! It worked and they turned out so much nicer. I have to say that this project took more hours than I care to invest in ever making them again. Yes, I like how they turned out but this was one project I was sooo thrilled to be DONE WITH! Can I tell you just how thrilled I was to be DONE WITH these?!?! lol! I think Phyllis would agree with me!
